Backing Rod is a CFC free closed cell polyethylene foam rod used under joint sealants to give the sealant the correct dimensions to allow for maximum movement, to act as a bond breaker between two incompatible products and to help minimise the amount of sealant required.

Generally the backing rod is to be installed so that it is held in position under compression to ensure that the backing rod does not move during the application of the joint sealant. This is possible by compressing the backing rod by approximately 25% when applying to the joint.

Foamjoint Sheet / Strip is a closed-cell polyethylene joint filler for use as an expansion joint filler in brick and blockwork, isolation joints and hinge joints where a readily compressible low load transfer joint filler is required. Foamjoint Sheet / Sheet is also used as back-up strips for elastomeric sealants placed in joints of concrete floors subject to foot traffic and light wheel loads. For joints subject to heavy loads or joints in water retaining structures, self expanding cork should be used

Conform fibre expansion joint filler is ideal for use as a filler strip in expansion and isolation joints for most types of concrete construction.

Conform meets or exceeds AASHTO and ASTM specifications and is approved for use by state departments.

It resists breakage, cuts cleanly and is easily held in position during concrete pouring. Conform will not extrude from the joint under compression and recovers substantially after release from compression.
